The Old Kettle Brewing Co.
I'd always wanted to brew my own beer, so while I was at it - why not create a cheeky little brand at the same time? So came the birth of 'The Old Kettle Brewing Company' with its first brew, 'The Ugly Duckling'.
To create a memorable brand for the home-brew that would appeal to a target market of 25-35, those that have long beards, checked shirts, and dark-rimmed lens-less glasses. Top it off with a bold label design, and apply to bottles that would appeal to the inner-hipster.
It was so much fun to work on this project, I deliberately chose a bold contrast of typography, combined with the rustic brown paper and twine bottle tags, all in all adding up to a strong identity. I'm not going to lie though, it didn't taste great, the best review I had was something along the lines of "Put it this way Matt, I wouldn't pay for it!"
